The team at E Creative has found the secret to channeling its expertise – branding, design and marketing communications – into true community impact. It partners with a roster of mission-driven businesses and organizations, the positive change-makers among us.

“We build brands for organizations that enrich lives and elevate communities,” says Esther Mejia. She formally founded E Creative in 2011, pulling from more than 22 years of design experience in both the agency and corporate worlds.

“Our team acts as stewards for our clients, serving them through meaningful and thoughtful branding and marketing strategies that work for them,” Mejia says. “It is important to us to invest in our clients and the community organizations that align with our values. Knowing that our work has a far greater reach is a responsibility we take to heart.”

Winning Insights from Our December Winner:

  • Providing an Excellent Customer Experience

“For us, it all goes back to relationships being at the core of our success. We are motivated to create strong, healthy client relationships because we understand that those relationships impact our work together,” Mejia says. “Creating a solid foundation with our clients starts with simple, but deep conversations about who they are, their purpose, their mission, and their goals from our work together. We have to be great listeners in this process so that we really get to the heart of our clients’ organizations and create quality designs and messaging that reflects them well. This helps us develop a reciprocal relationship based on trust, appreciation, and respect for each other.”

  • Empowering Employees and Creating a Culture in which They Can Grow and Succeed

“Our dynamic is such that our hierarchy underplays the boss/employee relationship and promotes a team setting. We are all equally important players and equally responsible for our client experience, results and success,” Mejia says. “Growth and success on a personal level are important as well. Our team actively talks about and plans time for health and wellbeing. It is important that we find activities and lifestyles that encourage healthy living. Whether we take a class, travel, learn a new skill, or spend time on ourselves, we support each other to achieve these goals so that each of our work/life balances is positive all around.”

  • Best Practice Tip

“For E Creative, it’s all about relationships. Being authentic and transparent with clients, vendors, collaborators and your team builds mutual trust,” Mejia says.

She continues, “You know early on if this client is a ‘fit’ for you and you for them. Investing an hour or two to really get to know your client is worth it versus taking on a project that you struggle through over months. Always trust your instincts. If the dynamic feels off, it probably is.”

  • Value of Chamber Involvement

“As a business, being a member of the Chamber serves as a great resource and is a great way to connect with other business leaders and entrepreneurs in a variety of industries. E Creative has relied on the resources and staff at the Chamber to help with networking, sourcing information, and brainstorming needs throughout the year,” Mejia says. “E Creative was involved in the We Don’t Coast Creative Taskforce Development Team, which was a unique endeavor that combined the talents and skills of several creatives in Omaha. Not only was this a one-of-a-kind experience, it created a platform to highlight and celebrate the over 30 communities who make Omaha great.”

  • Impacting the Community

“We are committed to being active participants in creating change that enriches our community and those who live in it,” Mejia says. “E Creative is honored to work with several extraordinary nonprofit organizations and local businesses that share our values. Its also part of our practice to reinvest in our clients and our community first. We are so close to the work that our clients do and it moves us to support their work.”
